Open Enrollment is Coming October 24
Open Enrollment for 2017 benefits begins in October. Here are five things you can do right now to get the most out of your benefits.
- Mark your calendar: Open Enrollment is October 24 to November 4.
- Think about next year: Do you need to change your health plan, dental plan option, vision plan or legal services plan during Open Enrollment to be ready for 2017?
- Protect your loved ones: Update your beneficiary for your retirement savings and life insurance plans today. Do you need to add dependents to your benefits? For example, if you have a child who will visit the dentist for the first time in 2017, you will need to add him or her to your dental plan during Open Enrollment.
- Take simple steps to save more: Open a flexible spending account (FSA) during Open Enrollment to reduce your taxable income in 2017. Or sign up now to get prescriptions by mail and save time and money.
- Get the most out of your health care: Use new tools to help you have better conversations with your doctor, find the safest hospitals and more.
There are no major benefit plan changes for 2017. Take the time now to review your current benefits and decide if you want to make different choices for next year. And view your 2017 rates now on Wolverine Access.
If you are happy with your benefits, you do not need to do anything to keep them—with one exception. IRS rules do not allow FSA enrollments to continue across calendar years. You will need to re-enroll to participate in an FSA for 2017.
